1 Available Data
Depending on whether or not your organization has an existing website, there may be important details about your content creation and SEO history available in existing Google Anaylytics or UA accounts. Other important data can be found using the Way Back Machine at archive.org. Next we use a Serpbook.com account to look into your targeted keywords on Google. Bing and Yahoo search.
Using the data we collect we put together site design proposal with a plan of action tailored to your organization’s goals, keywords and target markets.

Domain Setup & Hosting
DNS & Hosting
If you need a domain name, we will register one free of charge with custom nameservers. if you have a domain, we start by pointing your registrar’s DNS to our high-bandwidth servers/web hosting space at WHOIS. There, you will have access to a Cpanel enabling full control of your site.
With a front end tool called Updraft Plus for WordPress, we schedule weekly remote backups of your website to the cloud using Dropbox. On the back end we order encrypted SSL certificates to increase your domain’s security and rank. Backups include the site’s encrypted SQL database.
Depending on your organizational needs, we will select the right CMS or content management system. For most applications we install the WordPress CMS using Softilicious or a direct FTP connection. For other applications we prefer Joomla or Drupal to manage content and for multi site project deployments Ruby on Rails is used.
Google Analytics is an essential tool used to monitor every dimension of user activity on your site. By enabling the audience recorder in the admin panel, you begin acquiring a list of all the IP numbers that have visited your site. Next we install and verify Google Webmaster tools which provides an interactive console for insights and tools to improve visibility in Google search.
Launching Your Site
Our graphic design team drafts your website’s color scheme, icons, headers, banners, logos and the site’s 16 x16 px favicon in *.ico format. The graphic design work is completed in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, then sized, optimized and compressed for web display.
Most of our clients in eastern Connecticut come to us with some existing text content. Whether you have 10 pages of written material or none, we strategically develop new content and optimize your existing text content using SEO best practices and semantic branching.
To prepare for site launch, we clone and migrate the development version or beta site, to your permanent domain. It takes about 30 minutes for your domain’s nameserver change to propagate and you’re live. With an array of traffic monitoring tools installed, you are ready to A/B test and tweak the website’s design.
During A/B testing, our design team speculates about specific changes that could improve the user experience, increase page views, conversions or visit duration. Next, we use Universal Analytics to design A/B tests in which one variable is changed for a one to two week duration. The results help drive traffic and conversion rates.
